The white pine mosaic bowl is a piece which represents a new direction in my turning. The bowl was a personal challenge for me since it involved the use of different material and technique. Although much of the bowl is made of sections of white pine wood, all of it is oriented in an end grain configuration, which makes the turning and finishing more difficult. Besides the technical aspects, the bowl was a challenge to find a new area in wood turning by using new combinations of material and methods<Challenge V
